1947
In february it was reported by the coalville times that the club had a balance of £50 and there was a membership of 44.
In april it was decided to rent " the old Broomleys field on Blackwood Road from Mr Jack Nelson and Mr McCarthy for £2.2.0 subject to the club maintaining hedges and gates in the present condition".
It was decided to buy the Broomleys Ground for the club from Mr Nelson for £400, a plan of the field and letter were to be sent to the Town and Country Planning Committee for approval. ( the local council were also interested in buying the ground for recreation ground purposes).A letter was also sent to the church council for permission to buy the ground.
After the groundsman Mr Hill reported a lack of support one meeting was closed so that the members present could " proceed to the groung for roller practice".
At the A.G.M. in october it was noted that the ground had been purchased for £400 and Mr Randle had loaned the club this money at 2.5% interest. Subs were set at 10/- for over 18 and 5/- for under 18. It was decided to run an "A" and "B" team. The captain of the latter was to be picked later.

In october committee meeting a letter of complaint was received from Mr Willet about the site of the practice pitch and the stealing of some of his fruit. it was decided to move the pitch the following year.
It was suggested that the club members take more interest in the club affairs and that the committee meet once a week during the season.

In march the financial position of the club was reported to be £121.8.10 1/2 in the black.
It was reported that the club had a good year loosing only 4 matches including cup games.
There was a full fixture list for the first and second teams in the coming year but members were reminded to be early for all matches to help in the setting up and taking down of fences of wire round the cricket pitch.
Permission was granted for drainage to be laid under the roadway entering the field.
A letter was received from the church council stating that the club could not have a licensed bar at any ot their functions without prior approval of the church council. It was pointed out that by this action that the church council had stopped the means of raising money from the dances at the baths hall and in view of the councils wishes that no raffles should take place it was suggested that the club change its name to "Broomleys Sports Club".
The Tramcar was purchased for £35 (this was used as changing rooms for many years).
The trustees of the Blackwood ground had met and did not object to the club changing its name.
The rules of the club were decided as follows:-

9. That any member being guilty of any action, which is , in the opinion of the committee, likely to bring discredit to the club, or any of its members, shall be delt with by the committee.

13. That the kit Secretary be elected each year at the annual meeting.
These rules were printed on the fixture list and given to members on the payment of 6d.
Mr Hull-Perry was elected kit secretary.
A motor mower from J Randle was offered to the club.
It was decided not to play sunday cricket but to try to organise one special cricket match on a sunday to gain income (Derby County and Leicester City were suggested).
2 dances at the Baths Hall were arranged for Dec 28th and Jan 27th, both to be 50/50 dances with Monty Adams and his band and a licensed bar run by Mr Hughes. The charge was 3/- per ticket or 3/6d on the door. The catering was done by Mr Thrush. A committee of Ellison, Collier, Boot, Hodson, Hunt, Kellam, Pearce, Chambers, Hill, Long and Randle was formed to run the dances.

Poor support for the dance at the Baths Hall on Dec 28th was reported, a raffle on the Derby was organised to raise funds.
It was proposed that the home team mow and roll the wicket, cut the outfield and take care of the kit.Petrol for the mower was also applied for.
Mr Pearce was the club press officer and was responsible for the kit when playing. The second team were to have a different member responsible for their kit each week.
Mr Ellison was left to get the pavilion set up ready for use.
Mr Randle lent the club one of his vans to be used as transport for the away team.
The club were negotiating for a concrete wicket which was installed.
The Reverend Mould received a vote of thanks and good wishes for the future as he was leaving the club. Mr Ellison took the position of Mr Mould as Trustee of the club.
The Chairman was given the power to sign cheques.
Sleepers and boards for the floor of the pavilion were obtained. An extra 6 sleepers were obtained later in the year to raise the level of one half of the pavilion nearer to the height of the other half (for pavilion read Tram).
Some motor mowers were bought from Clutsom and Kemp.
Various fund raising activities were planned including a whist drive at the Forest Rock Hotel and lottery tickets which were sold throughout the football season.
