Match report On a sunny day at Quorn Broomleys skipper Hextall won the toss and had no hesitation on batting first even though the track looked a tough green and uneven. Wick and Sharpe wasted no time in tucking in to the woefully opening bowling partnership as they rattled up 73 in 11 overs before Wick was dismissed for 33. Frearson was next to fall for 17 and then Sharpe was dismissed but not until he amassed 77 runs including 3 big sixes. Hextall made 21 including a huge six into the housing estate and a useful 20 from Lewis helped the score along to 224-7 in 40 overs.

The opening bowlers of Jack Chambers and Smith found early life in the pitch the promised as much all day. Chambers struck twice and Smith once as Quorn were reduced to 14-3 in 7 overs and 57-5 as Smith added two more to his collection. The spell of the day was undoubtedly by Tom Brotherhood as he picked up 2 wickets for 36 in a terrific display off leg spin bowling as he found plenty of bounce and turn from the helpful Quorn wicket. Sam Chambers picked up 2 wickets himself and skipper Hextall moped up the tail with 1 wicket from his 5 balls and Quorn fell well short at 163 all out.
