Match report Broomleys hosted Barwell hoping to put last weeks defeat at Newtown behind them. Broomleys skipper Hextall won the toss and elected to bowl on a typically flat looking Broomleys track. Barwell got off to a tremendous start as they put on 120 for the first wicket but Sam Chambers and Wardle removed both openers and cameos from Roach and Wright in the middle order allowed Barwell to reach a respectable 210 for 4 from the 45 overs.

Broomleys reply didnt get off to a great start as Newman fell for just 2, stand in opener Mcloughlin played his shots in tandem with skipper Hextall as Broomleys raced to 48 for 1 in 10 overs. Mcloughlin fell for 21 and Sarratt soon found his feet cutting and pulling the short balls for several boundarys. Together Hextall and Sarratt put on 87 before Hextall fell lbw for a well crafted 52. Sarratt led the way well supported by all rounder Jack Chambers who made 34 not out, sadly though Sarratt fell for a brilliant 78 with just 1 run needed and this was easily achieved with only 4 wickets lost. An excellent win as they look towards a trip to Shepshed Town next week.
