Match report Broomleys 2nd XI played host to Narborough on Saturday looking to get back to winning ways. Narborough skipper Cox won the toss and hesitently opted to bat first. This looked the right option as Narborough built a solid foundation before Wardle struck in his first over. Impressively Wardle then went on to remove the next 3 batsmen as Broomleys took a strangle hold on the game. Sam Bingley bowled excellently on a slow wicket and got his reward by bowling number 5 batsmen Young for 0. Wardle however wasnt finished and went on to claim amazing figures of 8 for 52 in 15 overs as Narborough crumbled to 173 all out.

The Broomleys reply was nothing short of electric as both Newman and Barton tucked into the Narborough bowling. The 100 partnership came up in the 19th over as both batsmen passed 50 with ease. The opening pair went on to post a 154 run opening partnership before Newman was bowled for a brilliant 68. It was left to Barton to hit the winning runs for no further loss as he finished a fine 80 not out and a tremendous 9 wicket victory for Broomleys.
